ABOUT
Jay Rich is an artist, textile researcher and writer living in Omaha, Nebraska. He has been an SDA member since l998 and written in the past for the Journal and ShopTalk. His carved board clamp resist dye research has been presented internationally. His current areas of research are exploring environmental issues, sustainability and the intersection between food, medicine and dye processes in the natural world. He is working on dye plant production, extraction and the messy chemistry. He is a practicing psychiatrist and continues to search for sacred natural space and nurturing food in our complex global chaos.
